Downey City Council Members appoint three Youth Commissioners annually from a pool of applicants. Youth Commissioners must be enrolled in high school and reside in the City of Downey. Commissioners serve one-year terms that follow the City's fiscal year (July 1 - June 30). The application period for the 2017-2018 school year will be accepting application around July of 2017. If you are interested in becoming a Youth Commissioner please read the below guidelines and fill out the application that will be available in July 2017.

The City of Downey Youth Commission meets on the third Thursday of each month in the Cormack Room at the Downey Library.
