 In March of 2016, the Downey City Council approved an AB2766 Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Committee (MSRC) grant agreement, in the amount of $40,000, with the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) for the design, procurement and installation of four publicly accessible electrical vehicle charging stations.

Project Construction Notice
News Image Please be advised that the Lakewood Blvd./Rosemead Blvd. at Telegraph Rd. intersection will be under heavy construction beginning Wednesday April 13, 2016 and is expected to extend until the end of June while the intersection and approaches are being reconstructed with concrete. The approaches to the intersection will be reduced to one lane only in each direction during this anticipated two-and-one-half month period. As a result, heavy delays are anticipated at this intersection. Alternate routes are suggested.

I-5 Rio Hondo Bridge Repair
Caltrans will repair the Rio Hondo Bridge deck that was damaged during a July, 2015 fire under the Santa Ana Freeway (I-5) adjacent to the Rio Hondo River in Downey. Closure of Dollison Drive
During the week of April 27th, crews will permanently close Dollison Drive (between Quinn Street and the southbound I-5 on-ramp) and the southbound I-5 freeway on-ramp on Dollison Drive.  In addition, a long-term (approximately three year) closure of the southbound I-5 on-ramp on Florence Avenue is scheduled to begin the week of April 27th.

Special Notice - Parks & Recreation Dept.

Riley Community & Senior Center, ASPIRE office, and McCaughan Gym will all be closed this Friday, April 24th due to a planned Edison power outage.
