|The Downey Police Department's “Employee of the Quarter” program recognizes employees that provide exemplary service to the Department. Examples of exemplary service can include displaying a positive attitude which creates a positive influence on others, meeting specific goals or accomplishments during the quarter, performing above and beyond assigned duties, going out of his/her way to assist fellow employees and citizens, exhibiting outstanding work ethics, or offering new and innovative ideas resulting in improvement of services or processes. |
| |Forensic Specialist Laurie Anderson
Employee of the Quarter, April - June 2017
Laurie Anderson was selected as the Downey Police Department’s Employee of the Quarter for the 1st quarter of 2017. Laurie graduated from Biola University with a Bachelor of Sciences in Biology in 2008. She earned a Masters in Forensic Science in 2010 from National University and a Masters in Criminal Justice from California Coast University in 2016. Laurie joined the Downey Police Department family as a Forensic Specialist in August of 2011. Her job entails responding to crime scenes and processing crime scenes for evidence. She is also responsible for obtaining surveillance videos, developing and analyzing latent prints, and photographing evidence.
