Military Banner Program

The City of Downey is honoring the brave men and women who are serving in the Armed Forces through a Military Banner Program.  The program is designed to support, recognize, and express appreciation for Downey residents who are currently active in the U.S. Military.

In order to qualify for the program, honorees must meet two general guidelines:

  1. First, the honoree must be on active duty with any branch of the United States Military services.
  2. Second, the honoree must be a Downey resident or family member of a Downey resident, or have been a resident for some period before the age of 21.

The Military Banner Program is supported through donations.  Family members, residents, organizations and business owners can make donations in any amount to honor an individual for their service. 

Each banner will list the honorees’ name and branch of service and will be proudly displayed throughout the City.
